Our history

The investment banking, private equity and trading business was established in 1998 by Peter Vogel under the stewardship of David Barnes and Gavan Ryan. Together with Coronation Fund Managers it formed the two major operating units within the listed Coronation Holdings Group.
Allan Joffe joined the Group in 1999 to help spearhead the growth in assets of CoroCapital.
Following the delisting of Coronation Holdings Limited in 2003, CoroCapital continued as an independent and privately owned company, built around a culture of teamwork and excellence. The entrepreneurial flair of management supported by the strategic vision of David Barnes and Gavan Ryan remain embedded in our business today.
